About Us

Founded in 1894 in Marseille, the Savonnerie du Midi is one of the city's last historical soap factories preserving traditional Marseille soap-making methods. Located in the Aygalades district, the factory was moved there post-World War II and continues to produce soap using the classic cauldron method, with about 300 tonnes made monthly—80% of which is exported.

Acquired by the PRODEF family business in 2013, which has been active in hygiene and cleaning products since 1924, the Savonnerie du Midi benefits from PRODEF's commitment to ecological and organic products. The factory has undergone significant renovations to modernize its facilities and is recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) for its craftsmanship.

The Savonnerie du Midi is also engaged in local development through the PaQte program and recently revamped its site with support from regional and state funds. Its museum received the QUALITE TOURISME label for its high standards.

 

Product Description

Their stain remover soap, enriched with organic soap nuts and formulated from 100% vegetable oils, uses authentic Marseille soap. It is renowned for its effectiveness in tackling even the most stubborn stains.

Enriched with organic soap nuts and made from real Marseille soap, La Corvette stain remover soap effectively cleans all textiles, by hand or before they are put in the machine. The soap nuts are known for their cleansing, environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic properties.

The packaging is ecological: our soap is wrapped in a biodegradable film made from corn starch, another step forward for the planet!

Its ribbed format allows a better application of the soap on your clothes and reinforces the stain removal characteristics of this soap, for an even more effective washing!

 

Ingredients

Soap 30% and more. Also contains: water, sapindus mukorossi nuts*, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide.

Caution

Keep out of reach of children. If a doctor is consulted, keep the label available.

 

How to use

This stain-removing soap enriched with soap nuts can be used as a stain remover or pre-stain remover. Rub the stain directly with your pre-moistened soap before hand or machine washing.
For more delicate textiles, gently rub your wet linen with the soap foam. Soak for 10 minutes and rinse with water.
