About Us

Founded in 1894 in Marseille, the Savonnerie du Midi is one of the city's last historical soap factories preserving traditional Marseille soap-making methods. Located in the Aygalades district, the factory was moved there post-World War II and continues to produce soap using the classic cauldron method, with about 300 tonnes made monthly—80% of which is exported.

Acquired by the PRODEF family business in 2013, which has been active in hygiene and cleaning products since 1924, the Savonnerie du Midi benefits from PRODEF's commitment to ecological and organic products. The factory has undergone significant renovations to modernize its facilities and is recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) for its craftsmanship.

The Savonnerie du Midi is also engaged in local development through the PaQte program and recently revamped its site with support from regional and state funds. Its museum received the QUALITE TOURISME label for its high standards.

For home use, it effectively cleans, degreases, and shines various surfaces, including countertops, hoods, and sinks. In the garden, it provides protection for your plants.

This eco-friendly black soap is applied directly onto surfaces and requires no rinsing. It is 100% vegetable-based, free from solvents and dyes.

 

Ingredients

eau, séquestrant, parfum, glycérine, huile de lin.

 

Caution

Do not breathe sprayed product. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label.

 

How to use

  • To clean and degrease various washable surfaces in the home (worktop, sink, hood, etc.): spray the black soap directly onto the surface and clean with a dry cloth. No need to rinse.
  • For the garden, as an aphid repellent: spray the black soap directly onto the plants, not forgetting the back of the leaves. Avoid spraying in the sun or in very hot weather.
