Haddrell's of Cambridge® is one of the longest standing producers of UMF® Grade Manuka Honey, since 1993. The UMF grading system appraises natural markers found in Manuka honey, and assures purity & quality.

Manuka Honey and UMF

There are three key natural markers in Mānuka Honey (Methylgloxal, Leptosperin, and DHA), which are tested in registered laboratories and the results measure the “Mānuka-ness” of the honey.

One of the most universally accepted methods to grade Mānuka honey is to measure its Unique Mānuka Factors (UMF) and certify it with a UMF number (from 5+ to 25+).

UMF® Mark of Assurance – The Mark That Matters When It Comes to Manuka Honey

The UMF number indicated on the Manuka Honey product indicates the purity and quality of the Manuka Honey, a reflection of the unique compounds present in the honey.

Haddrell's of Cambridge® guarantees the UMF® rating of all their Manuka Honey by independently testing every batch for DHA, Leptosperin, and MGO levels by accredited scientific laboratories in New Zealand.

This registered trademark is the official stamp on honey that has been scientifically tested and graded appropriately. The honey companies that use this gold standards grading system are official licensees of the UMF Honey Association (UMFHA), which has strict criteria and audits its members’ packaging and marketing material.

About Haddrell’s of Cambridge

                                                                                                              The Haddrell’s of Cambridge Story

Haddrell’s of Cambridge was founded with the vision and passion of becoming one of New Zealand’s Premium Manuka Honey brands, by producing 100% natural bee products, made to the highest standards, using environmentally sustainable methods.

Founders Richard and Moira Haddrell started with only 15 hives in Cambridge, a small rural town in the centre of the lush Waikato farming district, in the North Island of New Zealand. Since then, the brand has always upheld its promise of ‘Direct from the beekeeper’, which meant ensuring that the honey would be of the highest quality and processed and delivered with the love and care expected from Mother Nature herself. Today, both Richard and Moira remain brand ambassadors for the Haddrells brand, ensuring the original passion and vision still remain.

Manuka Honey supports health and wellbeing, and it has long been valued for its unique properties and distinctive flavour. Manuka Honey, made from the nectar of the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium) has become one of the world’s most researched and adored honeys.
